LANDSCAPES OF SHARECROPPING CULTURE

From the balcony of Scapezzano, in a crisp, windy day, you can see the Croatian coast and the Velebit Mountains. Centuries-old olive groves, vineyards and cultivated fields - wheat, sunflowers, barley, spelt – cover the slopes from the Adriatic shore. The reconversion of the land has fostered the diffusion of organic farming, in the area of Senigallia, Roncitelli, Ostra, Corinaldo, Belvedere Ostrense, Ostra Vetere, Piticchio, Arcevia, and Castelleone di Suasa. It is the contemporary evolution of the sharecropping culture made of aesthetic ethics and care for the people and the environment - farmyards, partitions and boundaries, crop rotation, cohabitation of trees and native species. It is a boast for the Marche region and its enterprises and a symbol of Made in Italy.
